Ine uickly learns to adapt and that what he's always thought he wanted isn’t exactly what he needsSarler left his home planet to escape their restrictive ways Interested in pursuing his interest in men he had been unsure how to start When he is inadvertently bonded to Prince Bleine he is struck by how little he understands about handsome princes or life at. Here be spoilers It s really important to focus very hard on ignoring certain inconsistencies with this one or the enjoyment might go down the drain With some books I can t manage to do that In this case I seemed to be okay with living in the moment for a whileStating it has been three days since the end of the previous books is all nice and good but does not mesh with the sense I get from both Bleine s and Sarler s thoughts regarding their interactions with others in the mean time This is just the tip of the iceberg thoughI can ignore things like if the last book s bitchy villain had never bonded before and human children of Thresl had only weak powers how it s possible that she was human shapedOr whether Bleine s first bond mate was killed in his absence as stated in book one or died in his arms as stated hereBut I cannot ignore it when Sarler thinks how he has always been drawn to Bleine s cryo chamber when Bleine has been in there for one or two days at the most Jeez I guess it s immersion breaking when it messes with the main relationship like thatTime is an icky brittle thing in thisBecause grr So the old palace was destroyed only a few hundred years ago Yet this happened before Bleine and his brother were small and played there I must assume they were cats because likely even before they were born since they apparently never set foot in the place before How the fuck can Vohne have been reincarnating for two thousand years thenLet s not even get into the mess with Bleine and his blowjob remark that makes zero sense given he realistically can only have been intimate with two other people before his two female mates As such trying to save it by saying he hasn t had a great deal of practise is still an understatement of epic proportionsOh well Moving onTo my vast disappointment Bleine has to go and be a complete and utter moron for no reason I can detect by going on his search alone The feel of the story changes at that point as wellAt first this is a full on romance then it becomes focused on something entirely different then it goes back to the romanceSomewhere along that path I admit I got bored And then un bored again but I never uite recovered that level of interestWhen the epilogue begins the story feels unresolved on all counts Particularly between the protagonists Both still seem to be unsure of each other The epilogue itself alleviates this issue slightly but I don t get a vibe of closeness remotely like I did and still do with the first pairing in the seriesMaybe this goes with the territory of Bleine and Sarler Neither struck me as particularly interesting or showed that much personalityEh Saint was cool Although it s a bit odd that it seems as though he scents his bond mate at the end yet the next volume deals with another couple

Reading this series for the Novel Kingdom RPG Challenge It's a typical MM smut with shifter and sci fi elements Plus for a reasonably short length
