St nanny and weighed down with guilt about his wife’s death three years before wealthy but camera shy Matt has spent a long time pushing people away including his own kids His stunning new nanny challenges him every single day in completely different ways but maybe that isn’t such a bad thing? But what happens when you open your heart and someone isn’t who you thought they were? And can it really be true love when it’s on the rebound and starts off with a plan for revenge? I eventually liked this story but I had some problems with it in the beginning I had a hard time with the fact Matt chucks Melody out of the house and her job without giving her a chance to explain As her employer I thought he handled it very poorly and thought he had some major character flaws and this was a big one I also had a problem with Zoe’s motivations in going to Matt’s house to confront him I personally felt it was impulsive and rash and not her place When she is mistaken for an applicant for the nanny position and doesn’t set the record straight bothered me Zoe is coming out of a very bad relationship and I suspected she was using her pain and outrage at the cheating fiancé to get revenge on Matt When the plan of revenge was revealed this book nearly became a wall bangerI had a hard time seeing these two flawed characters with major trust issues between them ever manage to become intimate much less build anything solid together As I read and got to know Zoe and Matt better I began to warm up to them and empathize with them Zoe brings a breath of fresh air into Matt’s world though he really isn’t prepared for it or wants it She gets him to see that he has withdrawn into himself since his wife’s death and that his children are suffering for it Through Zoe’s efforts Matt’s relationship with his children changes drastically for the better and that was wonderful to see His relationship with his wife’s mother also improvesIn spite of her deceit in obtaining the job and continuing in the job I admired that Zoe was committed to the welfare of the children and was really good with them They bonded uickly and Zoe was able to draw them out of their shells too It still bothered me that Matt never gave Melody a reason for her abrupt dismissal and acted without investigating what he had been told It also bothered me how long Zoe waited to tell Matt the truth the whole truth and I was frustrated at the conseuences of her actions All ends well though the finale felt rushed and there is no closure between Melody and Matt Perhaps this will be addressed in another book in this series My Final Verdict Fans of chick lit stories about forgiveness and second chances will enjoy this story If deception misunderstandings and miscommunication in the plot is frustrating to them they may want to take a pass Disclaimer I received a complimentary copy of Picnics in Hyde Park from the publisher in exchange for an honest review The Lady and the Peacock three years before wealthy but camera shy Matt has spent a long Flights of Fancy, Leaps of Faith time pushing people away including his own kids His stunning new nanny challenges him every single day in completely different ways but maybe The Real Deal that isn’t such a bad The Holy Roman Empire 1495-1806 thing? But what happens when you open your heart and someone isn’t who you Complete Enderby thought The Invisible Writing they were? Picnics in Hyde Park is an enjoyable read that I just flew throughZoe and Matt are both great characters that are very likeable and it is obvious right from the start the attraction that they both feel towards each otherAs Zoe comes into Matts life by becoming a nanny to Matts two children it was also great to see the relationship between Zoe and the children also Having lost his wife in an accident three years ago it is obvious how raw it still is for Matt and the children and uite often it brought a tear to my eye throughout the storyThis is the first of Nikki's books that I have read and will certainly be reading

And can it really be true love when it’s on the rebound and starts off with a plan for revenge? The Review2015 could uite possibly be renamed 'the year I raved about Nikki Moore's Love London series' I'm pretty sure everyone I know is sick of me saying how much I enjoyed the five novella length books my favourite being Valentine's on Primrose Hill I featured Picnics in Hyde Park as my Waiting on Wednesday a few weeks ago and I was so excited to be able to read the final instalment of the series at lastThis time we're following Zoe and Matt's story After Zoe's sister Melody is rapidly dismissed from her job as nanny to Matt's children without so much as an explanation Zoe is keen to get revenge When the opportunity arises to take over Melody's position she grabs it with both hands keen to gain information that will bring him into disrepute However the she gets to know Matt the she likes himcan she follow through with her plan? Or will love get in the way?I really enjoyed this novel length book and found myself getting swept along by the plot especially the story about Matt's late wife Helen I really wanted to know exactly what had happened to her Whilst not a mystery as such there were clues dropped in alluding to how she died and I was desperate to know why Matt clammed up every time she was mentioned Matt's children were adorable I wanted to wrap Aimee up and give her a hug and tell her everything would be OK in the end It was also fabulous to find out a little bit about the characters met in previous Love London books Nikki Moore managed to cleverly weave them into Picnics in Hyde Park without it being clumsy or clunky The romance and relationship between Zoe and Matt sizzled and there were some red hot scenes between the two of them especially with the wool jacket involved All in all they were a likable couple and the fact there were some snarky comments and disagreements made them believableThe only niggle for me was when things that were obvious were being spelled out especially in relation to childcare safeguarding and education I'm not sure if this was irritating to me because my day job is in childcare or because it felt a bit unnecessary but that was the only negative for me in what was a highly enjoyable novel I'm reluctant to say farewell to this series but can only thank Nikki Moore for writing her heart out to produce contemporary romances which are a love story of a couple within a love story for a place My visits to London via her books have been a real delight a highlight of my summer I love love love the Love London series

Title Picnics in Hyde ParkSeries Love LondonAuthor Nikki MooreGenre Contempoary RomanceBlurbA summer to rememberor forget? When Zoe Harper returns to the UK after five long years in New York the last thing she expects is to find her younger sister Melody jobless homeless broke and dumped Unfortunately life has a way of delivering the unexpected She should know that given her ex fiancé Greg’s faithless behaviourFilled with rage and determined to get revenge on the infamous Reilly brothers for her sister’s heartbreak as well as get some answers Zoe hatches plan Nannygate Unfortunately that means moving in with the gorgeous but uncaring music producer Matt Reilly to be nanny to his two adorable complicated children But something isn’t adding up and over the course of the hot London summer she starts to think that perhaps Matt isn’t so bad after allLet down by his last nanny and weighed down with guilt about his wife’s death three years before wealthy but camera shy Matt has spent a long time pushing people away including his own kids His stunning new nanny challenges him every single day in completely different ways but maybe that isn’t such a bad thing? But what happens when you open your heart and someone isn’t who you thought they were? And can it really be true love when it’s on the rebound and starts off with a plan for revenge?Thoughts Picnics in Hyde park was different I'm still undecided if it was a good different or a bad different Zoe Harper returns to the UK after five longs years when she found her fiance in bed with another woman Outraged Zoe packs all her stuff and was on the next flight home only to find out that her sister was thrown out of her job and her boyfriend is not returning any of her callsMad as hell from her deception Zoe's anger takes an all time high making her take action as soon as her plane landed Instead of going home and consoling her sister she marched straight over to her sister's former employer to give him a piece of her mindInstead what she finds is an over stressed father Matt Reilly in need of a new nanny for his children Jet lag and anger do not mix and Zoe finds herself being interviewed for a job as the new nanny insteadMatt Reilly has a lot going on He's a famous music producer who lets his children be raised by the nanny with barely any input from himFilled with guilt over his wife's death Matt is emotionally distant to everyone around him and he seems not to have a problem with it So when his new outspoken nanny starts challenging him to actually spend time with his kids he does not know how to handle itThe sparks that seem to fly between them does not help matters Will he ever get back his life the way it was before? This is a book about misplaced revenge and a really messed up situation When you hear the reasoning behind why Zoe's sister was fired you will wonder the heck was wrong with that man's head You'll know what I mean when you read the bookSomething that I disliked about this book was that the children who are important aspects of the story were introduced into the story in such a way they sounded like and after thoughtAlso I do not buy the romance in the book It has nothing in the book that leads to the first kiss between Zoe and Matt One minute they were arguing and the next they were making out at the side of the house like a couple of teenagers That kiss came out of nowhere for meThe book was nice but it did not meet my expectations for a Nikki Moore romance I love the way she writes but this book was not up to par with the other books I've read of hers My biggest disappointment is how easy Matt and Zoe got back together He called for her and she came running That's not all to the story but that's how it felt to meThoughts To me this book was not as good as the other books she's writtenGrade CReview by Nathifahttpwwwthebookreadinggalscom

Picnic in Hyde Park is the sixth and the last book in the LoveLondon series by the fabulous Nikki Moore There is five novellas Skating in Somerset House New Year in the Ritz Valentine's on Primrose Hill Cocktails in Chelsea and Strawberries at Wimbledon all leading up to Picnics in Hyde Park This book is also a part of the HarperImpulse READ A THONI loved loved and LOVED the story of Zoe our main character and her younger sister Melody The book kicks off with an angry and a furious Zoe turning up on the doorstep of Melody's ex boss's house She is seeking revenge for Melody's unfair work dismissal and a conseuent emotional break down Melody worked as a nanny for a successful music producer Matt Reilly who after finding out about Melody's potential blackmail of his younger brother Stephen has decided to fire her on the spotZoe is such a lovable character she is a feisty a smart and a determined young woman who has a magical touch with kids She is the super nanny Zoe is also fiercely protective of her younger sister Melody I loved the way she cared about everyone who was important to her I understood why was Zoe so adamant to make Matt pay for what he has done to Melody Who wouldn't It was clever and sort of canny of her to accept the position of a nanny for Matt's family But despite Zoe's motives she managed to build a wonderful and a caring relationship with Aimee and Jasper mend Matt's way of life and inject some warmth and love into the complicated Reilly familyZoe was badly hurt in her previous two relationships and has a lot on her plate after arriving back home so it is only natural to act the way she does but as the story progresses Zoe's attitude starts to change and she realises that she missed the place she grew up her family and friends and her old life Zoe yet again relishes London versatility and the promise of something new and exciting ahead There is definitely lots of spark and flirting going on between Zoe and Matt form the very beginning and even though the story line is slightly predictable we all want happy endings after all it also has a few surprises and twists up its sleeve and a few deeper issues to solveI fell in love with all the characters new and old their way of dealing with problems and acting in the face of raw sadness or heady happiness It was very captivating and truly believable There were few scenes that had me in tears and I could not even contemplate how hard it must have been for Matt and his young children to experience such an upheaval in their lifeNikki's descriptions of London and Hyde Park are so skillful and vivid that I felt like I was right there splashing in the fountain or having a stroll through the park itselfPicnics in Hyde Park is not only a story about love and romance it is also a story about the importance of a family and the way we all should respect and love each other because life is just too shortNikki Moore is a brilliant writer She creates warm fun flirty and realistic characters and a story that flows in such a easy manner that it makes it so difficult to put down It ticked all my boxes of a truly fabulous read
