And could still destroy her Four years have passed since their hostile business deal and now the American financier is proposing holy matrimonybut she’s the reluctant bride wondering what’s he up to? For my full review visit my blog Chasing Dreams Publishing I normally measure a romance novel by the butterflies I get at the end of the story when the characters get their happily ever after While Sun Chara’s new novel may not be entirely my cup of tea I was happy that they managed to resolve their differences and the happily ever after made me smile

Book Reviewed on wwwwhisperingstoriescomBusinessman Stan Rogers is a man used to getting his own way When he needs Stella to seal a deal for his own gain he sends his men to go and get her and bring her to him which they do wrapped in a fish netMartial arts expert and teacher Stella has had past dealings with Stan and he owns the building where she runs her martial arts classes Stan wants Stella to live at his home and teach his son Troy martial arts But than that he needs her to become his wife so he can gain custody of his son Will Stella accept and does she have the option to say no?I have very mixed feelings about this book The characters were intriguing and little Troy was adorable Whilst I understood Stan perfectly he’s the typical rich man with an ‘if I can’t get what I want I’ll take it’ attitude He always puts himself and troy before everyone else Stella was a different storyI couldn’t get my head around Stella being this tough martial arts teacher a sensei and her letting this man walk all over her Even at the beginning when she is bundled into the fish net wouldn’t a martial arts expert be able to defend herself from two men? Plus she makes snap decisions without thinking about them firstThat being said the story although not realistic is actually uite interesting and I read it within a couple of days I did have some confusion near the beginning as there is a chapter that is a flashback When I first read it I wasn’t sure whether the chapters had been muddled up as there was no warning that this chapter was a flashback I had to re read the first three chapters twice to understand them properly After that the book flowed naturally and you got a sense of every emotion the characters were feeling It was nice to see the character evolve as the story progressedIf your looking for something romantic that is a bit different something short to pass away the time then this book is worth a read

A copy of the ARC was provided via NetGalley in exchange for an honest reviewSun Chara’s Contemporary Romance Recluse Millionaire Reluctant Bride is a uick read Stella Ryan’s life takes a turn when she meets millionaire Stan Rogers He helps her finance her martial arts business several years earlier Little did she know that their business transaction was far from over Stella must once again negotiate with the ruthless Stan Rogers He will stop at nothing to get what she wants And what he wants is his son and Stella Stella finds herself at his hideaway and begins to fall in love with his son The connection is immediate and pure Their voices are strong and distinct and provide insight into their feeling and fears Secrets complicate their volatile relationship Hopefully the truth will move them forward The author has written a character driven story filled with humour sizzle and unexpected twists

In his life Stan is used to women with ulterior motives He believes everyone has a price He doesn’t believe in love but will do anything to protect his son Stella is the uintessential feisty heroine She’s worked hard to make a success out of her dojo and won’t let anyone destroy her dreams First impressions do count as Stella still hasn’t forgotten the sexy but unforgiving businessman she signed a deal with years before Stan remembers a fiery minx whose beauty piued his interest and whose grit won him over When Stan needs help with his son Troy he remembers Stella and sets out to obtain her help whatever the cost to him or her“She was east and west light and dark fire and ice The contrast was striking Rare An exotic beauty a dangerous beauty”The character of Stella is well drawn and easily likeable She’s a bit of sunshine to Stan’s clouds Her successful athletic career and dojo are the results of diligence and determination While she has never considered herself the marrying type she uickly forges a strong bond with Stan’s son Troy Troy’s hero worship for his new sensei is the cutest Conversations between these two are sweet and it is through their relationship that Stella’s strength and resolve are shownStella’s longing to hold on to her dreams and her soft heart for Troy lead her to enter a deal with the devil Stan Rogers“He looked as rugged as the Canadian mountains His laser sharp eyes reminded her of an ocean storm dark turbulent”Stan was less likeable He’s drawn as a hard man weathered by his life’s experiences To be honest other than his good looks I wasn’t uite sure what Stella saw in him originally His softer side is only revealed through interactions with his son Throughout the conflict with Stella every time I was about to feel sorry for him he did something ruthlessThe pacing of this story is fast Super fast Action moves the story forward and there’s no way for the reader to become bored In fact I wish it was a little slower in some places to get a better feel for how the characters were coping and developingThe tension between Stella and Stan is well written I could almost feel it rolling off the pages These two paint themselves into a difficult situation and must find the will to fight their way out together They both have expectations of the other and refuse to see what’s actually happening in front of themA couple things were rushed one being Stella’s falling in love I also found the lovers’ conflict resolution was a bit rushed The story is told mainly from Stella’s perspective although at times from Stan’s We get to see how Stella comes to terms with her feelings and how she resolves them Stan however does not afford the reader that glimpse into his psyche He goes from mistrusting to in love with no substantial turning point momentOverall the fast pace sweet heroine and entertaining story made this a uick and fun read for me Try it you might like it

This is one of those guilty pleasure kind of books one that you don’t have to think too hard about you know what to expect going in a couple hours of easy entertainmentAlthough fairly predictable in storyline there is enough chemistry between Stan and Stella to keep it interesting I’ll be honest and say that I almost gave up with this book but there does come a point where it started to get a little bit addictive which I think can be attributed to the pace of the story It is a short book but it was so fast paced after a certain point that I finished it a lot uicker than I had imagined I wouldThe issue I had with this book at the start was the writing style there is a flashback scene that had no real delineation so it took a while to figure out when it ended and confused what was going on At points the writing was uite clunky and rushed and there were a few occasions that I felt like the characters voices felt muddled one would suddenly use phrases that another character had been using it sometimes made it hard to keep track of who was speakingAnother gripe of course is the insta love I am not a fan but I had gone in kind of expecting it so it didn’t frustrate me uite as much as it could haveWhilst this book wasn’t my kind of book it was still entertaining and I’m sure that if you like a romance book with an Alpha male then you’ll enjoy thisOriginally posted on everywhere and nowhere

This is my first time reading a book by Sun Chara her name and the cover photo conjure up an exotic expectation for what is held within First glance at the book reminded me of the old MB books from my youthIt’s a fairly short story in terms of pages but the flamboyancy of some of the writing makes it seem longer Recluse Millionaire Reluctant Bride is a title that covers exactly where this story flows arrogant Stan and sassy Stella make for a nerve tingling ride along the not so smooth road of romanceStan managed to destroy her in the past so why could he possibly be back? The business deal they had involved him financing her karate school surely he doesn’t want his money back ? That would be too simple wouldn’t itEnter Troy the cute kid that Stan has fathered while the adults are mixed up in an explosive relationship Troy uietly seeps in to Stella’s maternal sideThis is a fairly predictable story but never the less if you are just after a romance with an edgy touch that will weave it’s way to a happy ending then I’m sure you will enjoy Recluse Millionaire Reluctant Bride immenselyThanks to the author publisher Netgalley and Rachel’s Random Resource’s for my copy which I read and reviewed voluntarily

Overall I did enjoy this book It was a reluctant bride with a slight twist Stella and Stan where both strong characters who both appeared to be fighting their real feelings Stella was strong and feisty but she had a softer side especially where Troy was involved This is the first book I have read by this author and I will admit that I did struggle with the writing style and found it confusing at times hence the 35 star rating this is just personal preference#ReclusiveMillionaireReluctantBride #NetGalley
